WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM THIS IS-001 FORKLIFT TRAINING?

For the IS-001 working with forklift advanced diploma, Praxis is the right place for you!

The IS diplomas are essential in the petrochemical and port industries.

It can take place on your location or in one of our partner centers in Flanders.

The amount of days of training depends on your experience and competences.

If you pass, then you will receive the official IS-001 diploma!

In case your sector or client does not ask for this specific diploma, then follow our standard forklift training or forklift competency test.

The purpose of this training is to work effectively and safely with the forklift.

ADMISSION CONDITIONS

• Experience or no experience? Each forklift operator is welcome in this training!
• Being at least 18 years old
• Identification possible through an identity card, passport or driving license
• Possession of a medical fitness certificate
• The participant is fluent in the language of the exams

• Examination regulations available on request for in-house training courses

TARGET AUDIENCE

Employees who need to work with a forklift at an company site, in facilities, workplaces, warehouses. Where assignments have a certain level of difficulty such as:

• Stacking in height
• Driving and stacking in a limited area
• Under time pressure
• Near important installations
• Heavy loading and unloading
• In places with traffic of people and/or other traffic sources

For employees that work in (petro)chemical industry, this exam must be taken in a recognized center.

TARGET

Learning to effectively and safely use a forklift:

• Moving in an industrial or warehouse environment
• Pick up loads, move and deposit them safely and effectively
• Driving in and out of racks and block stacking
• Loading and unloading a truck or container safely and efficiently

• Theory exam + practical exam
• Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA IS-001 diploma: working with forklift advanced
• The diploma is personal-related and indicates the high-risk task the participant has passed.
• The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma.

THEORY TEST TERMS

The candidate can:

• Explain what a forklift is
• Name the activities for which a forklift can be used
• Recognise the associated transport equipment for horizontal and vertical transport
• Name tools for horizontal and vertical transport and handling of special loads
• Recognise the different types of palettes and storage methods
• Explain the important concepts related to forklift construction
• Name the different drive types and their applications
• Correctly explain the basic rules of forklift operation
• Correctly explain the safety rules and the traffic rules
• List the factors that can affect stability
• Explain a loading diagram
• Name the parts of the starting control
• Perform a last minute risk Analysis (LMRA)

PRACTICAL TEST TERMS

• Performing the start-up check (checklist)
• Performing a slalom
• Driving forwards and backwards through a tight passage
• Loading and unloading container or truck
• Lifting and moving high loads
• Stacking loaded pallets in racks
• Driving on a downhill
• Moving and stacking stacking boxes, mesh box type 
• Moving long loads forward through a tight passage
• Parking forklift truck in provided place
• Explanation of charging traction battery / refueling diesel / replacing lpg gas cylinder orally

WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?

• Mobile self-propelled work equipment can only be used by workers who have received the appropiate training for the safe operation of these work equipment (Codex book IV, title 3)
• A safety function is considered to be any work station where work equipment is used, where motor vehicles, cranes, overhead cranes, hoists of any kind are operated. (Codex book I, title 4)
