WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM THIS IS-002 REACHTRUCK TRAINING?

For the diploma IS-002 reachtruck advanced, Praxis is the right place for you!

The IS-diplomas are essential in the petrochemical and port industries.

It can take place on your location or in one of our partner centers in Flanders.

The amount of days of training depends on your experience and competences.

If you pass, then you will receive the official IS-002 diploma!

In case your sector or client does not ask for this specific diploma, then follow our standard reachtruck training or reachtruck competency test.

The purpose of this training is to work effectively and safely with the reachtruck.

ADMISSION CONDITIONS

• Experience or no experience? Every reachtruck operator is allowed in this training!
• Being at least 18 years old
• Identification possible through an identity card, passport or driving license
• Possession of a medical fitness certificate
• The participant is fluent in the language of the exams
• Praxis has an active equal opportunities policy. Our exams are open to everyone who fulfill the conditions, regardless of gender, skin color or religion
• You are exempted from the theory part if you previously achieved a valid diploma IS-001 - Working with a forklift truck advanced
• Examination regulations available on request for in-house training courses

TARGET AUDIENCE

Every employee that has to work with a reachtruck as their main task. In which the tasks have a level of difficulty such as:

• Stacking in height
• Driving and stacking in a limited space
• Under time pressure
• Intensive loading and unloading
• In places with traffic of people and/or other traffic resources

For employees who work in (petro)chemical industry, this exam must be taken in a recognized center.

TARGET

Learning how to use a reachtruck in an effective and safe way:

• Occupying a safety function
• Handling goods efficiently
• Be able to report defects and malfunctions preventively
• Preventing accidents and injuries
• Preventing damage to products and reduce damage during transport
• Achieving a balance between safe driving and productivity

• Theory exam + practical exam
• Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA IS-002 diploma: working with a reachtruck 
• The diploma is personal-related and indicates the high-risk task the participant has passed.
• The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma.

THEORY TEST TERMS

The candidate knows:

• The contents of the safety function
• What work permits are and can interpret and comply with them
• What the safety regulations are
• Important concepts related to the construction of the reach truck
• That there are different types of reachtrucks and their areas of application
• How to change batteries
• The elements that make up the start control
• That there are different types of pallets and storage methods
• Which factors influence the load and the stability of the truck
• How to use loading diagrams
• Identify, analyse and control risks associated with equipment and premises
• The basic legislation for a reachtruck driver

PRACTICAL TEST TERMS

• Applying the safety and traffic rules: driving defensively, interacting with people and other drivers
• Being able to properly perform a daily truck inspection, identify and report dangerous defects
• Applying correct entry and exit technique and park the truck safely
• Being able to use the controls correctly
• Being able to connect and disconnect batteries
• Use good driving technique: forwards and backwards
• Being able to perform the following manoeuvres: turning and cornering forwards and backwards, passing in very narrow passages
• Being able to estimate distances, depth and height
• Stacking goods in space with up to 1/2 meter clearance on turning radius, without using shide-shift
• Being able to stack correctly at ground level, in racks and at height and in function of the capacity of the reach truck
• Stacking with various systems such as gitterbox, baskets and individual stacking systems
• Applying order and cleanliness
• Capable of transporting long, high and bulky loads

WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?

• Mobile self-propelled work equipment can only be used by workers who have received the appropiate training for the safe operation of these work equipment (Codex book IV, title 3)
• A safety function is considered to be any work station where work equipment is used, where motor vehicles, cranes, overhead cranes, hoists of any kind are operated. (Codex book I, title 4)
